GENERAL INFORMATION

The Chilean Congress of Applications and Experiences in Computing (AEI for the Spanish acronym) aims to know the state of practice of Computer Science and Computing in Chile and to promote a deeper University-Business-Society approach.

AEI seeks to promote and disseminate experiences associated with the creation and application of technologies to address challenges that involve the generation of innovations in productive, educational, or social environments.

The third version of the Chilean Congress on Applications and Experiences in Computing invites academics and engineers to submit articles in the following three areas:

(1) State of Practice

The State of Practice articles explain a proposed technology or methodology to face a given technological challenge, its benefits, and state of adoption in a Latin American country or several countries. The articles must include a diagnosis and a judgment on the degree of fulfillment of the “promise” of the technology involved and its conditions of application, success, or failure. Technological, professional, and social aspects of the technology/methodology studied will be reviewed.

(2) Implementation of Innovations

Articles on the Implementation of Innovations present a case study (real experience) or proof of concept, highlighting the innovative nature of technological implementation. Thus, the report of how the existing knowledge and/or technology was made available to address the challenge considered, to produce benefits for the organization, is relevant. Benefits are expected to be clearly identified and ideally quantified, and lessons learned to be reported.

(3) Opportunities for Innovation

Articles in Opportunities for Innovation relate a recent technology or technology with little adoption and a problem in society or a productive sector. These articles are expected to measure the benefit and present a description of the barriers for adoption, and the prospecting of scenarios and initiatives, as an agenda, for their implementation in Chile or other Latin American countries.

PROMOTION OF UNIVERSITY – COMPANY COLLABORATION

They are especially invited to present their solutions: software and computer consulting companies, multidisciplinary academy-company teams, and Universities or Technology Centers with relevant experiences in the field of technological prospecting and computer applications.

SUBMISSION AND REVIEW OF CONTRIBUTIONS

N

AEI establishes an early date for registration of participation intention by companies. Said registry consists of sending a preliminary summary of the contribution of no more than 15 lines, through the website easychair (track AEI 2020).

i

Contributions are accepted in Spanish or English, with a length of between 6 to 8 pages. Articles in Spanish must additionally have an English title and a translation of the abstract also into English. The presentation format is IEEE CS proceedings.

The articles will be submitted for review through the easychair system, selecting the track “Applications and Experiences in Computing”. All contributions will be reviewed by at least two members of the Program Committee, who can request changes or clarify doubts.

Z

Sending a contribution implies that at least one of the authors must register as an author in the JCC2020 Chilean Computing Conference. Only the articles presented at the Congress will be part of the official proceedings of the conference that will later be indexed in the IEEEXplore digital library.
